Shores for All

In many cases, asylum-seekers and other migrants have no physical proof of the violence, abuse, or persecution they have endured. Attempts to receive protection from local law enforcement often lead nowhere, such that there is no paper trail of the injustices that many migrants have faced. Immigration-related evaluations fill this gap. An analysis of outcomes has shown that having an evaluation completed increases the likelihood of winning one's case from 42% to 82%. Shores for All, a fiscally sponsored project of Humanitarian Social Innovations, seeks to make these important services less cost prohibitive. Donations enable us to fully fund evaluations and therapy for migrants who would face the most severe hardships, including exploitation or persecution, in their countries of origin. Other individuals benefit from receiving high-quality services at a low cost. For every $800 raised, a high-risk migrant will receive a complete evaluation to support their legal case.
